About
So you are probably wondering who the mastermind is behind all of this amazing investment advice. Well, I am a recent college graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham. I majored in Financial Economics, which was basically 50/50 finance and econ with a little bit of accounting thrown in there for the fun of it. I somehow managed to graduate in four years, thanks to a bit of luck in getting into the classes I needed right before they filled up.
Out of college I was hoping to become a financial advisor, but after going through numerous interviews I decided it wasn’t for me. Apparently they want you to come up with a list of 300 of your closest friends and family that would be interested in investing money with you. I wasn’t really into selling out my friends and family for a company I knew little about and a profession I didn’t even know if I would like, so I moved on to bigger and better things.
So right now I am working as a teller at a Seattle area credit union (yes they are better than banks in many ways). I know, its not very glamorous of a job for a college grad, but I see a lot of potential upward mobility within the company. I’m going to put in some time there and see what happens, and at the very least get some professional experience out of it.
Basically this site centers around my failed goal of becoming a financial advisor, and the financial pitfalls I have seen from some of the members of my credit union. My goal is to help better educate the public about different investment options, because it is painfully obvious that many people don’t fully understand how to make their money work the hardest for them.
